Anchorage, AK – The Council on American-Islamic Relations wants Legislative committee to drop the anti-Muslim rhetoric of the head of "Stop Islamization of America" from the committee's lineup of testimony. Documents show the FBI used to undercover investigators to uncover an alleged plot to kill Alaska judges and law enforcement officers. A community council criticizes the placement of a seven-unit affordable housing complex in their neighborhood, saying enough already.

3/29/11 Newscast - Governor denies health insurance for up to age 26 children of state retirees; Firefighter and state Rep. Feige sees no conflict in proposing bill giving firefighters a tax break; Air National Guard gets first of four new C-130s

Anchorage, AK – The Parnell administration nixes health care coverage for up to age 26 children of retirees allowed under the federal Affordable Care act. Firefighter and state Rep. Eric Feige sees no conflict in proposing legilsation that would give property tax breaks to firefighters, emergency medical and rescue organizations. The Alaska Air National Guard gains four C-130 Hercules aircraft from Tennessee under defense base realignmnet and closure.

3/28/11 Newscast - Village foundation holds a powwow; climate change has beaver moving into an arctic river causing health concerns; Alaska Air says flights are back on schedule after a computer shut down

Anchorage, AK – Hundreds of people gathered for a three day powwow in Anchorage to see lower '48 drum and dance groups and watch contemporary musicians, including nationally known rapper LiteFoot, perform. Beaver have moved into the Wulik River, which provides drinking water for Kivalina, causing concerns about "beaver fever," or giardia. Alaska Air flights are back on schedule after a computer outage that disrupted travel plans for more than 12,000 passengers.
