Anchorage, AK – South of Anchorage the Seward Highway is closed from Bird Creek to Girdwood due to avalanches and whiteout conditions, but expected to reopen this afternoon. A federal judge rules criminal investigation files on Alaska Representative Don Young cannot remain sealed. The investigation involved a $10-million earmark for a Florida road, which benefitted one of his capaign donors. The tanker Renda, on a mission to deliver fuel to ice-bound Nome, is making slow progress through thick ice.
