Anchorage, AK – With more to come, but after meetings in more than a dozen communities on plans for a transportation corridor to Nome, views are 60% for and 40% opposed. Five railbelt utility companies have joined forces to collaborate on big ticket energy projects such as a Susitna Dam, which has an estimated cost of 7 and 13 billion dollars. The American Lung Association gives Alaska an A for prevention and control. It says Alaska needs smoke-free laws, however, to best protect people from tobacco's effects.
