Anchorage, AK – A firearm was involved but no major injuries have been reported in an investigation of possible gunshots on the island of Little Diomede. Troopers are headed to the island to find out more. The Sitkoh River was damaged during logging practices of decades ago, when logs were often yarded by dragging them down streams and rivers to the sea for transport to mills. Agencies and organizations are working together to restore Sitkoh River so it is again a salmon and steelhead trout producing river. Its located about 70 miles from Sitka, in southeast Alaska.
