Anchorage, AK – The Attorney General has advised Governor Sean Parnell that Alaska isn't bound by the federal health law enacted last year. A State Senator says upcoming legislative redistricting is going to reduce rural Alaska Native representation, and Native rural residents need to think about how to retain their voice. The Federal Subsistence Board may get two new rural members in addition to the one subsistence user now on the board, which otherwise represents federal land management agencies only.
