aAnchorage, Alaska – Governor Sean Parnell says he won't ask the Legislature for funding to expand Medicaid and open it to more low-income Alaskans. The federal government will cover the expansion for the first three years, with the states' share gradually increasing to 10%. However Parnell says he's concerned the federal government may not pay its share, leaving the state to pick up the tab.
Nuiquit villagers sue to prevent Conoco Phillips' plans to drill north of their community in the National Petroleum Reserve-Alaska.
The Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium is seeking participants in a study of an on-line curriculum that teaches Alaska Native middle school students about abstinance, sex, healthy relationships, and sexually transmitted disease prevention.
