Anchorage, AK – The State's Redistricting Board released the latest draft redistricting plan. The Matanuska Susitna borough region gets five representatives. It created nine Alaska Native influence and majority districts to maintain their voice in the Legislature. Tribal and corporate leaders will meet to sign an accord asking Congress to repeal and amend the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act, restoring tribal authority to hold lands in trust, among other changes.
