Anchorage, AK – Supports of a proposed ballot initiative to legalize the recreational use of marijuana are about halfway toward their signature-gathering goal.
Students are finally heading back to school in Galena, three weeks after its normal starting time. The Galena School District grappled with impacts of flooding last spring, postponing maintenance and repairs to provide housing for displaced residents. The Galena boarding school serves scores of students from dozens of schools across Alaska.
The annual flu season isn't here yet, but is on its way. Health officials have flu vaccine ready for immunizations before the flu gets going spreading across the state.
