Alaska Native Corporations take heat for raking in billions of dollars thanks to special advantages in Small Business Administration program

10/11/2010 – In eight years, Native corporations took in almost 24 billion dollars through the SBA 8(a) program. The corporations have advantages over others taking part in the program, including no dollar cap on sole source contracts. Critics say shareholders aren't getting enough benefit from the profits. Three corporations join the critics in calling for reform.
