Live In-Studio: PDX Fest

The TapRoot and Ladybird booking present PDX Fest: featuring the music of northwest artists Emma Hill & Bryan DastePretty Gritty, and Small Souls.

The festival will be a full night of music, showcasing some of Portland's best folk and americana acts as well as Alaskan americana sweetheart Emma Hill, who began her career in the city of roses. There will be featured Portland beers as well as Portland themed door prizes.⋆ The night will be split into two shows, the first being The Bryan Daste Show, a listening room concert featuring a round robin style performance with Daste accompanying each artist with various instruments. The second show will showcase the rowdier side of each group including a rare performance of Emma Hill and Her Gentlemen Callers. The dance floor will be open and we will keep Taproot weird!

The Bryan Daste Show featuring Small Souls, Pretty Gritty and Emma Hill:7-9pm
Join us for a listening room show featuring Bryan Daste. Daste is a staple of the Portland music community, having made a name for himself as one of the city's best Pedal Steel players. Hear his versatile stylings while he hosts a round robin style songwriting showcase featuring some of Portland's best songwriters. He will accompany each player with a variety of instruments, as well as adding lovely vocal harmonies.
As the show will be over by 9pm, children are allowed if accompanied by their parents.

Loren’s been on the Radio in Anchorage for 30 years. Since the mid 80's he's worked with Anchorage radio stations including KWHL, KFQD, KKLV, and KMXS. His passion for Music and the 'Triple-A' radio format began in the early 90’s which led to him to help establish the format for KNBA when the station signed on in 1996. When not on the radio hosting a music show and interviewing local and national music acts, he may be on a long road trip or you’ll find him hanging out at his log cabin in the quiet, but bear filled hillside valley of his hometown Anchorage.
