Danny Preston speaks with Alaska Native artist, Gretchen Sagan! With a traditional print-making background, Gretchen has been painting on canvas for 6 years. Her new series of art features painting on birch-tree panels. An upcoming exhibition featuring 16 pieces by Gretchen herself will run September 5th through the 28th at the Alaska Humanities Forum. Tomorrow evening for First Friday, from 5:30 to 8:00 PM, marks the beginning of the new exhibition including a special reception. Danny Preston

Hailing originally from the Puget Sound region of Washington State, Danny Preston has lived in Alaska for more than 40 years. His career in radio began in 1991, and since 2004 he has hosted KNBA’s Morning Line program. He is also the station’s music director.
