U.S. Senate Candidate Joe Miller criticizes media coverage; Calista fires CEO Matthew Nicolai after investigation sexual harassment charges
By Joaqlin Estus
10/12/10 – Republican and Tea Party Express favorite Joe Miller hasn't run for elected office before and doesn't like the scrutiny he's undergoing as a candidate for the U.S. Senate. Monday [October 11] Miller told reporters he will not answer questions on topics such as his family's use of benefits he has called unconstitutional, and allegations he quit rather than get fired for using Fairbanks North Star Borough resources to help oust Republican Randy Rudrich from GOP leadership. In other news, the regional corporation for the Yukon-Kuskokwim region of Alaska, Calista, fired long-time President and CEO Matthew Nicolai after investigating sexual harrassment charges against him. General Council Andrew Guy replaces Nicolai. Also, newscast corrects a dollar figure in yesterday's story on SBA 8(a) government contracting with Alaska Native corporations.
