Ojibway singer-songwriter, Nick Sherman was born in Sioux Lookout, Ontario. He grew up in the small First Nation community of Weagamow Lake and his family’s trapline in the northern boreal forest on North Caribou Lake. His songs are inspired by his family’s guitar-playing and storytelling as they worked on the trapline. Nick’s acoustic rhythms and lyrics create ballads of lament as well as punk inspired tracks. His second full length album “Knives & Wildrice” is earnest and personal, holding onto his Ojibway roots and delving into issues such as addiction, relationships, and self-preservation.
