Our guests today on Morning Line were a musical trio called The Ballroom Thieves.

The group is playing at the Alaska Center for the Performing Arts on Sept. 22nd, this coming Friday at 7:30 - but here's a twist - first, they are touring local schools, inspiring students and also picking up local High School symphonic talent.  That's right, some lucky band students will get a chance to play with a nationally touring music group.

She's on tour with her new album is called "Overflow", which is a follow up to "For the Winter."

She and stopped by KNBA to share some of the music she is creating, as well as reintroduce herself to the Alaskan audience.  She's come in the winter, and this time decided to check out the summer scene.

Live music this Friday morning on KNBA -

Ukulele Russ is from Maine, originally, but now calls Fairbanks home - when not on tour.  Certain elements of the experience of living in one of the coldest cites in America influences his music, whether it's the timing of gigs around moose hunting season, wardrobe choices that reflect a less stuffy attitude, or some of the lyrics and witticisms included in his show.

KNBA recently welcomed special in-studio guest Liz Vice to talk about her music.  The vocalist shared her inspiring life story, as well as related this trip to Alaska was living out her dream to travel here.  While in the 49th state, she got to hike in snow, during which even saw a bear, in between performances in Anchorage and Palmer.  Given that it's her first trip here, that's a lucky break, and at KNBA we're all hoping she comes back!
