7/22/14 KNBA News - Companies apply for LNG pipeline permit

Companies have applied for an export license from the U.S. Department of Energy, proposing to move up to 20 million meteric tons of LNG from Alaska for 30 years.

The Trans-Alaska Pipeline has moved 17-billion barrels of oil since its start 37 years ago.

U.S. Secretary of the Department of Labor Tom Perez visited Alaska, praising job training partnerships, while promoting the idea of a higher minimum wage.

6/10/14 KNBA News - A study shows VA hospital in Anchorage gets veterans appointments within 14 days

A newly released federal audit shows veterans were able to get an appointment within 14 days at the VA hospital in Anchorage.

A deep water port in northwest Alaska wouldn't cut the high cost of living unless the oil and gas used the proposed port as a main base.

The Tlingit and Haida Dancers of Anchorage are practicing, and raising money, to go to "Celebration," a biennial arts, dance, and cultural event held in Juneau.

3/13/14 KNBA NEWS - Two people medevacced from King Cove by helicopter

Two people were medivacced from King Cove to Cold Bay in the Aleutians, where locals continue to push to have a road put in so people can take that trip by road.

Legislators consider advocating for an American Indian Veterans Memorial on the Mall in Washington, DC.
