Anchorage, AK – The Alaska Mental Health Trust Authority is awarding a lease to explore for coal near Chickaloon to Australian company Riverdale, raising concerns about mining impacts for the Chickaloon Tribal Council. Dozens of National Guard troops are helping Cordova residents dig out from under 18 feet of snow. The tanker carrying fuel to Nome is arriving later than expected.
