3/25/14 KNBA News - An Alaska Republican state senator gets blasted for birth control comments
Fairbanks Sen. Pete Kelly says his statement "Birth control is for people who don't necessarily want to act responsibly," was taken out of context; his position is binge drinking is irresponsible and can lead to fetal alcohol spectrum disorders if birth control fails.
A bill to create an Alaska Vaccine Assessment Commission was adopted in the state Senate and now goes to the House for consideration.
A shortage of the kinds of workers who can keep elders in their homes, instead of having to move to nursing or assisted living homes, may be in short supply.
