Anchorage, AK – The Federal Board of Subsistence will meet July 11-12 on whether Ninilchik residents can continue to harvest all fish in federal waters in the Kenai River area; the nonrural status of Saxman, located near Ketchikan; and the tribal consultation process. University of Alaska Fairbanks researchers are embarking on a 5-year study of obesity prevention strategies for Alaska Natives. State Representative Mike Doogan is recovering after hospitalization for side effects of brain surgery last year.
