Dan Fauske resigns as president of state gas line corporation

Dan Fauske has resigned as president of the Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (AGDC), which represents the state in the proposed $45 to $65 billion project to bring natural gas from the North Slope to Cook Inlet for export.

The resignation was announced at an early morning meeting of the AGDC board on Saturday, and accepted in a unanimous vote.

Bill would give Alcoholic Beverages Control Board oversight of marijuana

A bill that is fundamental to setting up legal regulations for Alaska's marijuana passed the House Tuesday [April 14, 2015]. The bipartisan vote is a step towards the Alcoholic Beverages Control Board establishing a permit structure that oversees a full legal market, from growers to commercial sales.

State Senate votes to eliminate daylight saving time

The Alaska State Senate has voted overwhelmingly to eliminate daylight saving time in the state. The bill now goes to the House. The bill would stop the state from springing forward beginning in 2017. Sens. Dennis Egan, Bert Stedman, Berta Gardner and Johnny Ellis opposed the bill.
